During 1831 there were a good number of Insurrections; Workers and Slave Revolts and also a number of Nationalist Rebellions. These took place all over the world, the European Workers revolts will be of particular interest in the Merthyr 1831 Insurrection connection, particularly note the Bristol Riots and the Lyon Silk Workers Uprising, both of signifigance in a comparative study with the Workers Revolt in Merthyr Tudful. However, do'nt ignore reading up on the other Revolts and Rebellions below, also search Google for information on other Insurrections 1831 as in Belguim and Bosnia and in the Papal States of Italy. Further, of interest will be the beginnings of the Texas War of Independence, with of course it's connection to the Chartist Rising in Newport 1839..
