I am a news freak or should that be 'Geek?', I am a regular listner to World Service and do BBC and ITV News for a while in the morning but end up on Sky Breakfast News. Usually am sussing the morning news from 6 - 8:00 am, then down to doing what ever I got to do, an agenda of political and history labours and archiving up to 2016, then fin! Full on retirement to tour European Capitals, have done Paris would like to go back to Belleville and also visit Pere Lachaise Cemetary graves of notes and Paris Commune Memorial. However, next year it's going to be Madrid hopefully, maybe Barcelona as well if time but it's not a priority as one of my daughters goes regularly and sends me postcards and takes photos for me.

Whatever, my holiday plans aside and back to the News and come late evening, I am not interested in the British News Media, nor American either though from time to time I will glance at CNN. However, give me European News Networks and Russia Today as my preferred choice for some interesting documentaries and generally news from Russia, as on History and the Envirionment also films. Russia along with China are doing some great History Movies in these times and Russian Horror is very good too, check it all out. What's prompted me to do a post on Russia Today is because I caught part of an Anti - Iraq/Afghan War documentary that impressed me very much, not just the awful foto/film footage but the interviews. I have no time at moment to check out what documentary it was, I have just been on the web and there is so much Anti - War film. I shall keep an eye open for RT to repeat it and blog the info asap next time around.

I was most certainly Anti - Iraq War from the very beginning, as much a crime by the west as any thing the Serbs done in Kossovo, so why are not Bush and Blair on trial, yes? As for the War in Afghhanistan, at first I was in support largelly due to fact that it concerns me, if the Taliban win there where next Pakistan and then Kashmir maybe? We know where this will all spin off to, the Far and Near East and not least Africa, then what? I have no time at all for Islamic Fascists/Religious Fanatics of any kind. European History has had enough of all that 'Religious Fanaticism' in our past from Christians killing Pagans, to Crusades against Frisians, Balts and Cathars to Arab and Kurdish peoples. As for our Religious wars of Reformation and burning of fellow Christians and 'Witches', I got no problem about burning the Bible, that book has been responsible for the burning of many human beings. Only going back to saving humanity as their power declined and they needed a 'contituency' as allies, much as many Politically/Culturally Correct 'Useful Idiots/Usual Suspects' do today, requiring a 'Constituency' of 'deprived and underprivellaged' to keep the otherwise over educated but unemployable Petite Bourgeoisie in jobs. Yes! Part of the Problem not the Solution more than likly?

Don't know enough about the Koran or Islam to offer any oppinions there, other than the reason I would not burn the bible is that like the Koran to do so would just offend people plus of course burning books would put us on same level as the Nazis. However, unlike many on the left, I would not pander to any religion, best Socilalists are Secularists and also Militant Athiests, fin! Talk about 'Religious Liberties' and in such connection talk of 'Human Rights' does not particularly wash with me. At end of day, give any religion power and it would become corrupt and very dangerous indeed to the human condition as in Central Europe and yes! in the Middle East today too! Meanwhile no one seems very interested in Murder and Rape in the Congo but moan a lot about Stanley Statue in Denbigh, c'mon how many Welsh Soldiers carried out awful attrocities in Africa and as for Lloyd George and Ireland, he's got two statues in Wales and at least one in London.
