Is it possible to advertise the Sat August 18th march in Llanelli to your members /contacts mailing list. ? This is the annual commemoration of the August 1911 Llanelli Railway Strike when a national railway and dock strike was called in response to starvation wages and up to 70 hour working weeks { at this time the railway was run by very profitable private companies}. Only in Llanelli were the tracks blocked and trains held up by mass pickets when other workers joined the protest. With the ports blockaded and the rail link to Ireland severed in Llanelli, Winston Churchill, the home secretary, mobilised 50,000 troops across the UK. When soldiers opened fire and killed 2 by-standers in Llanelli, the town rioted. The strike was settled and railway workers were given higher wages and shorter hours.

Ironically a century later we are still campaigning for a living wage and proper public services in Wales. The theme this year is the battle to preserve our local health services and all are welcome, including families and children. Local historians will point out the places of interest as we pass. The Cambria marching band will again lead the march.

Assemble Llanelli Station 11.30 am for the 20 minute walk to town where there will be a rally and speeches. Those who wish to attend are welcome at the Box Cemetery later{aprox 3.00pm}  where wreaths are to be laid on the graves of the 2 young men shot dead by soldiers.

Thanks,

Sian Caiach {on behalf of the 1911 Railway Strike Remembrance Committee}

Comment: There is no need for there to be an FWA Banner at this event, the FWA no longer exists and if commemorating they then at least add date of FWA demise in sorry full surrender at 3:00pm  Swansea Court House on the 1 July 2012 and then still not used in connection with what is clearly Socialist History Commemorations. This banner and as well as 'Racist Remarks' at both Llanelli and Cilmeri events 2011 as well as bad language etc used at the Balchder Cymru Dic Penderyn event in Port Talbot 2011 as resulted  in BC being banned from holding their hoped for annual event there which is now being organised by the Labour Party and about time the Cambro - Brit LP took an interest in our Welsh Working Class History and both celebrated and commemorated as not least the Great Unrest 2012.

All three above events; Llanelli, Cilmeri and Port Talbot 1911 were attended by BC and it is their supporters or 'hangers on' and/or Cambria Band 'Camp Followers' which are linked with both the FWA Banner and reported racist remarks. Thus, close attention needs to be focused in this direction at above events and if the FWA banner appears event organisers should request it be taken down. Needless to say anyone heard making Racist remarks needs to be told in no uncertain manner go. In these times when the Patriotic Fringe Right is again getting over concerned with issues of 'Mewnlifiad' and associated 'Afordable Housing' being seen as for those forced out of English Cities by Tory Housing Benefit Cuts. This is something the BNP and EDL/WDL could use to their advantage via 'entryism' into Nationalist Patriotic Fringe, this occurred before when the NF Political Soldiers attempted 'Entryism' via 'Old FWA' Nationalists of a right wing persuasion though they were not directly knowingly concerned.  It would be to more useful advantage to Wales. if Nationalists, Republicans and Socialists united with the Great Unrest 2012 Group in Campaign against Unemployment and Depopulation.

One 'Patriotic Fringer' made waves about this event being 'Hi - Jacked' by the Labour Party/Trade Unions, my comments on this below at end.

***

Event Organised by Steffan ap Dafydd  of NUT Cymru, steffanap@msn.com. Next year, I think it would be a good idea to consider involving the Dic Penderyn Society and Red Choir, the former for many years commemorating Dic Penderyn in Merthyr and the latter in Cardiff.

Below: Secretary of Owain Glyndwr Society gives reading on death and burial of Dic Penderyn, I though this quite moving thus more of a shame not much more is made of this anniversary by any number of Political Groups and Trade Unions as well as Community and also Socialists, Anarchist, Republican and Nationalist groups. Was Radical Wales or other left groups represented? I was there to represent not only my radical blogs but also the Great Unrest 2012 Group, whilst Nationalists were represented by Bethan Jenkins Plaid Cymru, the Secretary of COG and Sian Ifan of Embassy Glyndwr, all three Patriots I guess as representing not so much any Native Aristocracy but the Peasantry who for most part who made up Glyndwr's National Liberation Army and why not as after all this war would destroy serfdom and bondage in our country and make way for the coming of the People of the Red Pitchfork and popular protest.

I made public this day my new radical flag of Partisan Cymru, instead of a Red Dragon, a Revolutionary Red Star on Green and White. Next a Welsh Version of Hammer and Sickle, then the Irish Socialist Republican Starry Plough'. That should keep me busy and well out of trouble.

See below picture and note, there is an huge parking space in this area and was quite empty on a Sunday as is the whole area outside the Church at about mid day. So maybe next year tables could be set up here for groups could then display and sell literature and otherwise engage in discussion on various issues.

Comment on 'Patriotic Fringe' Russell G. Morris BC having bad vibes about above, my comment issue by email prior to the event.

Pawb.

1: Dic Penderyn was as far as I know forgotten by Labour (Chartism being their tradition, though PF was marking the Newport Rising in the 'Sixties) and it was never a Nationalist thing either untill Cliff Bere and Harri Web WRM I ressurrected an interest in it but even then, there after it was my brothers WSV/Cymru Goch 1 that began events in Merthyr (that arcade mural is from an original design by my Bro) and at Port Talbot. Then by Cofiwn (and later by my Red Remembrancer blog). Later and since a great deal thanks to Viv Pugh and his DPS also note Cardiff DP event owes lot to Red Choir and they may hold an event at the DP plaque tomorrow, 13 Awst date of execution.

2: When i made appeal via RR blog for special event there on the 175th Anniversary, the Labour Party and Trade Unions with Local Government did so and very well. Russell and Balchder Cymru are very much late comers and it was BC ''member'' or rather perhaps their 'Hangers On' who messed it up last year's event with ''rowdiness in drink'' that it seems provoked the Vicar to support the Steffan ap Dafydd NUT event and give BC the elbow as informed of in fb by Pauline, Russells Partner.

3: Now that Labour and TU are taking it aboard, great and about time better than they just the annual Welsh Left toddle up to Tolpuddle Festival. So lets not knock it as they will do a better job than we could over the years in organizing this event, we could build up a DPS and Cymdeithas Lewsyn yr Heliwr/Great Unrest 2012 Group contingent to be big and stand out also have a stall outside the Church yard. In other words use it to ones advantage.

4: Which 'hat' is Russ wearing now, BC or PC? after all Bethan supports this and other Labour events and it is Leanne's Policy to have another Coalition with Labour again in the WAG, I do not hear Russ making a noise about that so why is he so peeved? Also all Nats be aware that last year CyIG with the PSB and LP cooperated in a Joint anti - Cuts rally in Caernarfon, CyIG more concerned about S4C of course but still they cooperated. Both PC and CyIG are big supporters of all 'Greens' and we know where these Cambro - Brits stand on Windmills. The Policy of the GUR2012 Group is realistic the Left does need to work together but 'On The Street', inc Commemorations as above not politically to send 'suits' to the Assembly nor back up LP unionism any more than a PC 'Britannic Confederation'.

5: Finnaly, once and for all, I am critical about neo Nationalists organising the Llanelli 1911 Riots Rally and making a big Nationalist thing out of it with FWA banners nonsense etc.. The 1911 Strike was part of a World Wide Welsh contribution to the Great Unrest 1910 - 1912 and in the BI there were riots and deaths in Liverpool too. But most importantly for Nationalists to be mindful of, is that in 1911 there were no Welsh Nationalists other than ''Liberal Cultural Nationalists'' (PC Traditional roots)  who in that year were organising Welsh Support for a Coronation and the Investiture. Llanelli as Merthyr too in 1911 were very much under Socialists influence and all 'nats' note they were the only two Towns in Wales to officially via their Labour Councils to oppose the Coronation and the Investiture. All the ''Nationalists'' were at the 1911 Investiture as many were in 1969. Given this history, I still support the Llanelli 1911 Strike Rally and am promoting it, not being unrealistic and thinking I need to do it or could do it any better.

I hope the DPS can be represented there at Port Talbot, think that is very important with future of event in mind, Sian and I are not so interested to be that activelly involved as we are 'Pobl Lewsyn' and otherwise very busy with Windmills on our mind as ever

I know there was no FWA banner at Port Talbot but there have been three worrying incidents in wake of BC last year alone (at Port Talbot, Llanelli and Cilmeri 1911) and thus we must be up to the mark and keep an eye out for people who might have a 'Secret Agenda'.

Russell BC Replied to above with a single line, below:

''Hahahahahahahaha thats all i got to say lol deluded old fool''

No Discussion or Debate there then?
