Note: Red Remembrancer blog and my left labours in this area are coming to an end in June 2011, I am politically retiring as an 'Activist' to archive and put together some books, pamphlets and DVD's on themes I have explored in my blogs. So, this is the last year I shall be pushing for an annual Merthyr 1831 Commemoration, others can now carry on if they wish and hopefully making a start this year. I shall as usual make tribute on 3 June to those massacred that day in 1831 and attend any other events organised plus as per usual in recent years have my own Red Picnic in Parc Cyfarthfa. Voting Yes on 3 March was the easy bit, voting left for a Peoples Parliament on 5 May is somewhat self decieving as will be delusional populist celebration of that Royal Wedding of Mass Distraction on 29 April.

CONCLUSION:

There are out there groups capable, if getting an act together of organising a good annual Merthyr 1831 Insurrection Commemoration, as example the Dic Penderyn Society which has already been doing much down the years. But what about Bethan and Plaid 'Cultural Nationalist' Left plus the likes of Radical Wales and Welsh Republic, forget for a moment Protest buses to London and get some buses up to Merthyr for some of the above. As for the Labour Left, time you give Tollpuddle Festival a break from, and gave Merthyr 1831 a big break. C'mon Cymru, lets go really radical republican left towards a for real popular National Liberation Struggle not just nibbling at the crumbs but lets take some bloody big bites out of the Imperialists and their Colonial Crony Establishment!.

HANES CYMRU GOCH: NICLAS y GLAIS REVISTED b: 06 - 10 1879 d: 19 - 04 - 1971.


I was sent recently a small booklet: Nicholas of Glais The Peoples Champion by David W. Howell, my thanks of course goes to the sender. I am particularly grateful as it's an interesting read and a real eye opener to those of us patriots who have over the years been more concerned with Princely heroes rather than Peoples Champions, although my mind has never been closed to importance of the 'Barefoot Welsh Doggis' in the history of struggle in Wales. However, as aware as I am of much of our history, I still have much to learn of peoples history of struggle in Wales. This small booklet adds greatly to my knowledge in particular or rural radical struggle, for most part in this publication regards Farm Labourers and Lead Workers. Then of the I.L.P in it's history in West and South Wales, I hope this booklet is still in print and on sale and if not it should be. I would hope that those patriots whose minds appear to be closed to any sniff of Socilalism or regard the history of Labour with disinterest to make an effort to read about Niclas y Glais. I suggest that on the 19 April annually radical activists make sure floral tributes are placed at sites associated with Niclas y Glais, not least in Glais of course. I have also suggested, see at end of this post, that Radical Republicans escape from that Royal Wedding on 29 April with outings to Ardal Presli to visit places associated with Niclas y Glais
