The 'Yes' Crowd/Campaign is a bunch of people who are not so altruistic as they would have us all believe. I am not saying many are not genuine but lets take Plaid Cymru as an example at moment totally in self denial about Welsh Independence which most of their members consider to be central to their very existence. However, what about Plaid leaders, movers and shakers? most may but the point is who do they think they are fooling when being so silent on issue of 'Welsh Independence', themselves? their members? or the people of Wales? If it's all about being pragmatic then these Plaid Leadership Bozos have a lot to learn about the struggle for Independence and need to do some studying on Anti - Imperialist/Colonial Movements in the British Empire and not least National Struggles in Europe as from 1848. For a moment forget about the 'Blue Books' but rather consider the Spring of Nations of 1848 and take it from there. Myself have had to accept that 'Welsh Independence is an out of date impossible dream and as long as our Sovereignty remains in hands of England or the European Union to talk of Welsh Independence is anyway just nonsense. The last chance of really pitiching into an Independence struggle was in the 'sixties' but Plaid with Plant Crachach took the road of advancing the future of 'Y Crachach Newydd' - what became England's Client Tribe in Wales.
As for the left in Wales I am not leaving they off the hook as all these years down the road their path to a bright new Socialist future ushered in Thatcher, then Blair and now a new nightmare begins. Thus Welsh Socialists/Communists/Left in general too might also study the events of 1848 from a left point of view as did Marx and Co, to see where they might have been going wrong on the Welsh Independence Issue. The International left, ultra in particular 'Tickles me Pink' in their duplicity where they cherry pick Nationalist Struggles/Causes/Campaigns as may suit their none too altruistic take and positioning on the National Question. This has been the case since the 19th century most notably on the Irish Question and later regards the Finns and Balts and other middle European Nationalities. This far from altruistic political positioning goes on today amongst the British/International Minded Left, be they based in Wales, Scotland or Occupied Ireland this left takes it's text book 'thoughts' on the whole from a London Metro Left Menu. Much however depends how successful a National Movement/Struggle may be, thus in Scotland and occupied Ireland the Left does have National Stand points on the National Question and in the main suports Independence Struggle. As of course they did regards struggles against British Imperialsm in it's Empire and American Imperialism in our times from Vietnam to Afghanistan.
Today the 'Welsh Left' or should that read the Anglo - Welsh Left in Wales also in the case of small nations in Europe supports minorities as the Basques and Catalans also Bretons etc but not so regards Wales and the Welsh. In Wales it only goes so far, that far is usually narrowly and foolishly in supporting Plant Crachach/CyIG with out really understanding who they really represent or what their ends are about, sustaining 'Y Crachach Newydd' - England's Client Tribe in Wales. In this 'Left Positioning' they are not treating Wales as having a 'National Question' but rather are supporting a 'Language Struggle' as they would support other minority Interests in Wales as Blacks or Muslims etc. Here again this left I am talking about can stoop so low in such pandering, then by default ignore some awful stuff that comes in the wake of minority interest as the repression of women and saying little about Honour Killings. I find it most difficult to take aboard 'Secular Socialism' and Feminists not standing up more often to condemn such practises including female circumcision which also goes on in Cardiff (so I am told?) or done via 'holidays back home' for unfortunate girls. All this does leave such open for abuse by the BNP and W/EDL causing resentment amongst other peoples, ethnic and otherwise. Quite right to be anti - racist but come on no one as the right to oppress and victimise, certainly not for religious reasons. Europe got rid of Religious Terror years back not least because of the advance of 'Secular Socialism', lets keep it that way. I have yet to hear anyone from the 'Trotskyist Left' or even Anarchists in particular condemn Islamic Fascist Terrorism as fast and loud as they condemn Anglo - Nato - American Fascist Terrorism. Politicians who ever they are begs the question, can you trust any of them?

- Pointing out the above, just clearly shows how the Brit/Internationalist/Welsh left can put self interest before the interest of the whole. They are doing it now with Plant Crachach/CyIG without any independent thought on the matter as to what might be best for the whole, not least English Speaking Wales. For that matter or what is truelly best for 'Cymru/Cymry Cymraeg', the choice being community controlled Television back in the native Cymraeg communities or the same 'ShamelessS4C' in Cardiff's 'Pontcanna Patogonia' for 'Y Crachach Newydd'. Yet, the left and Trade Unions jump to support Plant Crachach Campaign not from principle but more so from stupid short term self Interest advancement. This is also because Cultural 'language' Nationalism is pacifist in body and soul and, thus are useful in winning their support to Left Wing Anti - War/Nucleur Causes. The same reason now basically applies to the Left's support for the WAG 'More Powers' Referendum Campaign, as they see an opportunity where in a small pond they can be big fish. Advancing all sorts of self interests be it really in the interest of Cymru/Wales, the people and their communities or not, actually also advancing their own political beliefs or as well 'middle class' interests as much as those of 'Y Crachach Newydd' up front Cultural Nationalists. So where does the 'Welsh Left' stand in the 'More Powers' Referendum, myself am calling for an 'Abstain to Abolish Assembly' believing that the Welsh Assembly Government is more a threat to devolution, that is devolution down to the communities of Cymru/Wales. My political position is to the left, in so far that I want the communities of Wales to hold the means of self detirmination not a central Government of Devolution Dilittantes or Coalition Colonialial Collaborators. In other words quite simply ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE NOT TO THE POLITICIANS AND THEIR CRONIES IN 'BAE BRADWYR CAERDYDD', not least the 'Old Taffia' or 'Y Crachachach Newydd' - England's Client Tribe in Wales. This feature is continued in a Part 2 and Part 3.Related to above Web Links thanks to Google:
